Chase Top Restoration - Using Stainless Steel chase cover

Many fireplaces built in the last 40 years are the pre-fab variety, also called zero clearance. These are metal fireplaces and chimneys which are framed in with wood and then sided. However, many are installed improperly using regular steel for the metal pan (chase cover or chase top) that keeps the water out. The results is rusting and staining that can end up ruining thousands of dollars worth of siding and roofing.

In order to fix this problem, Alternative heat suggests a stainless steel chase cover - one that we can provide a LIFETIME warranty on! We will come to your home and take the proper measurements, order the stainless steel top, and then return and properly install it. We will also consult with you to discuss any additional damage which may have been caused by the improper chase top - and repair it if needed.

The picture above shows one example of our chimney restoration work. In this case, the customer had a pre-fab chimney structure with excessive corrossion and rust.
