It may be too late, but we have an antique Heatrola coal/wood stove. Needs to have the fiberglass gaskets replaced and has been welded in a few spots. Was working last year, but wouldn't burn all night (8-9 hrs) using wood. Previous owner used coal. I'm getting rid of it because our house came with two woodstoves and I'm keeping the newer/smaller of the two. If you're interested, it's a pickup only deal. I don't have means to ship something like this. Name your price. If it's anywhere near market value, it's yours. Thanks.

So, you are right, no one can moderate these comments - they are just comments. But if you put "show email" or "notify me when someone replies to this post" , then you will be spammed by some jokers elsewhere on the net.

So comments are just that - comments - for the information you are looking for, go back to the site front page and see the forum and other interactive sections.

..Hi Jannine. I'm not sure what an upland stove is, but what you are describing sounds like an old pot belly stove of sorts...the oval pipe and the wheel makes me think so . Usually the oval fits with a fitting and then turns into round pipe the rest of the way up. The wheel is to control the amount of air that goes into the stove and determine how your fire will burn. If this stove is anything like I am thinking it is, they are charming but they eat wood like crazy. They are not efficient at all. You need more of an airtight stove if you are using it for heating your house. You can find used ones...brand new ones are quite pricey. "Hope this helps.

I am thinking about getting an upland stove. The pipe in the back of the stove is oval;not round. Can you get stove pipe to go up a chimney? The stove was in a basement. It has something like a wheel on the side to vent out some heat or smoke. Not sure what that is. I am not familiar with woodstoves. Should I just call it quits on this stove & purchase a new one?

Could someone tell me how that i can contact someone at Better 'n ben's and find out about this VERY OLD stove. The only marking on it that i see is when you open up the door that it has a circle with a upside down triangle on back of the door. Its a 2 tier stove(flat top & 45 degrees down to bottom). Has Better 'n ben's stamped into metal on door. Could someone please help me with this. Thanks alot
