The HEARTH Education Foundation begins offering online training classes this month. This important advance in delivering effective training on a wide scale at a reasonable fee without travel expense is an answer to the growing demand for training.
Fireplace Installer Training System (FITS) is a thrilling new program offered by the HEARTH Education Foundation. Introduced to popular acclaim at manufacturer and installing distributor meetings last year, FITS is the industry’s first fireplace installer training program that provides dealers with all tools needed to educate their employees.
The National Fireplace Institute® (NFI) now recognizes hearth professionals who hold all three NFI certifications—for gas, wood and pellet installations and service—as Master Hearth Professionals under a new program.

Super Cedar Fire Starters have recently been approved by Sud-Chemie Prototech, one of the largest manufacturers of catalytic combustor for wood stoves. The Super Cedar not only passed the test, but were shown to actually help catalytic stoves achieve initial light-off. The testing lab had the following comments about Super Cedar:
“We were very pleased with how it improved the start-up time of the stove and in the long run will lower the amount of pollutants emitted from the stove. The starters were tested in several stoves and results were comparable with each stove and model. The super starters made it easier to start the stove and to reach the point of light-off for the combustor. In addition, use of Super Cedar Firestarters in no way negatively affects the activity or life of our combustor”.
