Hearth Online Training Classes Coming Soon To A Computer Near You

The HEARTH Education Foundation begins offering online training classes this month.  This important advance in delivering effective training on a wide scale at a reasonable fee without travel expense is an answer to the growing demand for training.

The HEARTH Education Foundation is proud to announce that online classes will be available starting this summer.  This important advance in delivering effective training on a wide scale at a reasonable fee without travel expense is an answer to the growing demand for training. Classes are live and interactive, presented by an instructor who can lead discussion among participants, answer questions, and show visual images and text. While high speed internet connections offer some advantages, the delivery system chosen by HEARTH even allows dial-up connections. VoIP technology allows this important interchange without the need of an additional phone line. Students need a computer with speakers and a microphone or a headset (which will be available at a very inexpensive price).  The initial classes are already under development with more to follow.

Hearth 101
Hearth 101 is designed to provide new employees with fundamental technical and safety information about hearth systems and product categories. The class will introduce wood, coal, pellet and gas appliances and venting systems. It consists of 3-90 minute sessions.

Gas Tech 101
An introductory look at gas appliance technical issues, LP conversions, getting the best flame picture and basic trouble shooting will all be reviewed.

Why My Wood Isn’t Burning
The information covered in this class is designed as an introductory look at wood appliance trouble shooting.  It is perfect for a new service technician or as a review for the experienced person. We will also discuss the technical information a salesperson needs to know about wood stove installations.

Free online demonstrations will also be announced and available in advance of the first class offerings. Classes will be conducted at various times of the day to account for differences in time zones.  Exact details, CEU’s, and a class schedule will be coming shortly. For more information, call (703) 524-8030 or visit http://www.hpbef.org and click on “Hearth Online Training.”
