MORSØ Celebrates 150 Years of Cast Iron Excellence
A man once said that the further you can look back, the further you can look forward, and Morsø has had a 150 year head start in designing the wood stoves of the future!
For most Danes, a wood-burning stove is synonymous with Morsø. Our cast iron stoves have been part of everyday life in Denmark for six generations, and although much has changed since 1853, the sight of living flames in the cast iron wood stove makes it the natural place for families to gather around on a cold winter evening.
With 150 years of experience in making cast iron wood stoves, Morsø is at the forefront of stove development. You can always find a Morsø stove that fulfills your needs, whether you are considering design, size or efficiency.
Peter Jessen Hansen, Managing Director of Morso proudly offers; “A lot has changed since the first stove left our foundry in Nykøbing Mors 150 years ago, but the most important tools are still the same--assembly is still by hand. Real people, not machines, assemble the stoves on assembly lines because this is the only way the best quality can be assured. Morsø’s employees take pride in their workmanship, just like the first foundrymen and blacksmiths did back in 1853.”
Mr. Hansen adds “We are proud of our history, because it is reflected in our everyday work--and it gives our stoves a quality and durability not available elsewhere. When you choose a Morsø stove, you are not simply getting a beautiful cast iron stove, along with it you also take home a piece of Denmark’s history.”
Morsø’s official celebration begin in Nykøbing the weekend of April 26th with the members of Hearthlink International, North American Importers, in attendance.
