National Fireplace Institute Recognizes ‘Master Hearth Professionals’

The National Fireplace Institute® (NFI) now recognizes hearth professionals who hold all three NFI certifications—for gas, wood and pellet installations and service—as Master Hearth Professionals under a new program.

Arlington, VA – The National Fireplace Institute® (NFI) now recognizes hearth professionals who hold all three NFI certifications as Master Hearth Professionals under a new program.
For the past five years NFI has certified professionals in the hearth industry. Professionals can become certified in up to three NFI Certifications based upon fuel type:
· NFI Gas Specialists
· NFI Woodburning Specialists
· NFI Pellet Specialists
Now, NFI will recognize the exceptional accomplishment of earning all three NFI Certifications with a notification on the NFI Specialist’s website listing and NFI ID card. There is no fee for MHP status, but NFI Specialists must contact NFI to register and synchronize their certifications’ expiration dates.
Master Hearth Professionals will gain the deserved respect from consumers, colleagues, contractors, and building officials for meeting the challenge of earning all three certifications.
“The MHP program offers benefits for the certified professional as well as the customers they serve. Master Hearth Professionals will have well-deserved confidence and pride in their craft and this advanced designation shows consumers that their hearth installation and service is being handled by a person who has met the highest qualifications in the industry,” says Sue Kalish, NFI executive director.
NFI, conceived and overseen by the HPB Education Foundation (HPBEF), was developed to award, through the mastering of NFI exams, expert credentials for professionals planning and installing hearth appliances and their venting systems.
For more information, contact NFI at (703) 524-8030.
