NFI Conducts Pellet Job Analysis Survey, June 15-July 15

The National Fireplace Institute® (NFI) conducts Pellet Job Analysis Survey among certified hearth specialists from June 15 to July 15.

Arlington, VA – The National Fireplace Institute® (NFI) will conduct a Pellet Job Analysis Survey among certified hearth specialists from June 15 to July 15.
Job Analysis Surveys are a crucial component of NFI’s certification program, and are conducted roughly every six years to keep programs as relevant as possible for the industry. Two surveys were conducted in 2006 for Gas hearth systems and Woodburning hearth systems.
National testing standards that NFI follows require revision of the job analysis for pellet hearth system planning and installation at this time. Industry experts from across the country will review and revise the tasks and knowledge statements to ensure that NFI exams and HEARTH manuals are up to date and accurately reflect the real world of hearth products installation and planning. Strong participation from a widespread audience increases the reliability of the survey results.
Specialists may receive the Pellet Job Analysis Survey by calling NFI at (703) 524-8030. Each NFI Specialist who completes the survey will not only contribute to improving NFI training and certification programs, they will also receive 1 Technical CEU toward their certification renewal, and will become eligible to win a Bosch 18V 6-Piece Combo Kit, valued at $549.
“The pellet fuel industry shows continued strong growth, and proper support of training is key to it and overall to our industry,” said Sue Kalish, Executive Director, Hearth, Patio & Barbecue Education Foundation (HPBEF). “NFI training and certification fills a key need in our industry and offers one of the best avenues to professionalism. The basis for a great training and certification program is one that is built around real needs in real job skills. That’s why it is so important for certified professionals to take time out of their busy schedules to tell us about their jobs, so we can develop courses to improve skills of those in our industry.”
In 2001, the Hearth, Patio & Barbecue Education Foundation formed the National Fireplace Institute as the certification agency for the industry based on national blueprints and standards for certification agencies. NFI certifies hearth industry professionals in three fuel categories: gas, woodburning, and pellet. To learn more about NFI credentials, visit http://www.nficertified.org.
