Anthracite coal in wood-burning stoves - # 1018

Question:

Can anthracite be used in a wood-burning stove?  Maybe I overlooked that information.

Answer:

You cannot use coal in most woodstoves. The internal stove design is so different that the coal will fail to ignite and burn. You need a smaller fire bed, grates, and under the fire air flow to burn coal.
