Convert Wood Stove to Pellets? - # 104

We have a Hearthstone and a Schrader wood stove and wondered if these can be converted to pellet stoves?  Thank you

Answer:

No wood stove can be converted eaily to Pellets. There is one company that produces a natural draft grate - The company is Energex at www.energex.com. I cannot speak for itÕs effectiveness since I have never used it and it is a new invention.
From a mechanical viewpoint, Pellet Stoves are very different than wood stoves due to the use of forced draft and auger feeding, so if you really want to burn Pellets regularly you should consider purchasing a new stove.
