Pellet Stove Question - # 1760

Question:

I have recently installed a new Winrich pellet stove model 3500 and I was wondering if this unit can burn other products besides wood pellets?

Specifically, can the unit burn dried corn?  I know there are other similar products that claim to burn both corn and wood pellets, but I don’t know what components if any are different.  Are there any differences?  I realize that this might be a bit of a stretch, but any information you could provide me with would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you in advance!

Answer:

There are a number of modifications needed to make a stove burn corn. If the stove does not mention corn in the manual and/or descriptive literature, it almost surely will not have the ability to burn this fuel.
