Colebrookdale Stoves - # 1818
Question:Hi - We’re building a 3 season camp in mid-Maine. A stove dealer has an 1980 Colbrookdale (sp) (used) wood/coal stove for sale. He says he can get parts for it, although I haven’t found a thing about this Company/stove on the net. I do know that its an English Company from Stropshire GB. Has anyone had any experience with this stove? Your experience/opinions sure would be appreciated

Answer:
They made some nice cast-iron wood/coal models for the US market. The Darby was the largest, followed by the Severn and the Much Wenlock. Parts are available at the Heat Shed 610-847-2064
They are nice stoves for coal, and also decent for wood. The Darby is quite powerful and takes a 24” log, rare for a wood/coal stove.
The foundry that makes them is world famous…one of the first production iron foundries in the world…made the first iron bridge (England)
