Vermont Castings Dauntless 1240…Good, Bad, or Ugly???? - # 1954
Question:I am considering buying a Vermont Castings Dauntless 1240 stove. I’ve never heard of that model. Does anyone have any experience with this stove?
Would you recommend it? Does it have a cat or not?

The Dauntless was made before the new management took over…
It is a franklin style stove with large glass door. It is NOT made for heating, although it will warm a couple rooms. It is more of a fireplace/showpiece.
NO cat or other advanced combustion system is available.
