Cleaning 30 foot 4 inch dryer vent - # 2105

Question:

Do you carry or know of a source where I could get a brush to clean the lint out of a 4” dryer vent.  The run is about 30 feet.  Thanks.

Answer:

Chimney sweeping rods are 6 feet each, but screw together to any length. 4” and smaller brushes are also available. - they are sold as either “boiler brushes” or “Pellet vent” brushes.

The problem becomes the strength of the piping. These rods and brushes put a lot of pressure on the pipe that you shove them through.

How about trying to blow it out with a leaf blower? This has worked for me on similar situations. Just make certain that you have the far end out the window or outside!
