We are expecting the birth of our 1st foal any day now. Mom and dad are Paints and our daughter is hoping for lots of color to turn the new one into a show horse(she trains/shows part time professionaly). Getting a bit nervous now each morning when making the trip out to feed. Perfect Pictures to follow

My farming days are quickly coming to an end….......a couple pics.

Last night my cousin, that owns the farm nowadays, passed away. He had a heart attack in the barn. He was 62 years old. He had no siblings, no children, and has never been married. I used to do almost all the farm work for him, and milked the cows, but I was slowly retiring from most of that myself. I was now down to milking the cows just a couple days per week. I am not sure about any details of his will or anything like that, but I am sure that whoever gets the farm now will not keep the cows. A friend of my cousin’s and I are milking the cows and feeding the calves for now, until the final decisions are made, which I am sure will be soon. Our old family farm has had cows milked on it everyday for well over 100 years, now coming to an end.

I was just looking over some pics I took in recent months and felt compelled to share a couple with my friends on the forum. Thanks for reading and looking!

Just completed a grill for our stove. So far have grilled burgers and baked pizza. On a bet that I couldn’t I’m baking cookies today in the stove.

How many cords?

Was cutting some wood when I came across this Mullberry. Was nearly 5’ across and probably 60’ high. Normally the mullberry’s don’t grow that tall around here. There were limbs 20’ up that were 2’ in dia. It’s a great old tree, plan to leave it. How many cords would you guess were in it?

Went for a hike this morning. Only game trails here. These pictures were taken from Vancouver Island, just east of Telegraph Cove.
First picture is the Coast Mountain Range in the distance. Second picture is Queen Charlotte strait in the background. Third is Johnstone Strait. The bay in the left of the fourth picture is Bauza Cove.
