This forum is for discussion of older stoves - built during the stove boom of the first oil shocks up until the EPA regs started to take hold. Brands include Fisher, All Nighter, Timberline and many models of current makers like Vermont Castings, Jotul, etc.

Wood Pellets and Corn, as well as mixed biomass agri-fuels are becoming popular due to local availability and ease of use. A wide choice of stoves, inserts and central heaters are currently available in this category. This Forum room is for discussion and troubleshooting of these appliances and the associated fuels.

This Forum is for the topic of Central Heating - specifically with wood, coal, pellets, corn and other solid fuels. We can also discuss multi-fuel systems, which burn oil and gas along with solid fuels. If you are looking to heat your entire house evenly from one location outside the living area, this may be the Forum for you!

Topics specific to wood fuel such as Tree ID, wood splitting, storage, moisture reading, availability and BTU content will be discussed here.

Natural Gas and Propane (LP) are popular fuels for todays fireplaces and stoves - and can burn quite cleanly and efficiently. This forum room is for discussion of gas fireplaces and stoves.

This area is for discussion and links of renewable energy and conservation NOT related to stoves - such as solar, wind and water power as well as conservation, ethanol and other evolving technologies. Long debates may be moved into the Ash Can....we would like this area to be a resource!

Here is where you can post reviews and experiences with chain saws, wood splitters and other equipment - everything from trucks to ladders and hand tools - as long as it has to do with wood, pellet, gas or coal use or installation.
