Stories/Editorial - NEVER use a hammer to install a Jotul
As our long awaited Jotul Castine in blue-black enamel arrived at our house, we were filled with pride and anticipation of firing up this magnificent woodstove. Although the one installer that brought the stove had trouble getting it out of the truck and up our gravel drive, all seemed well. Until the installer had to get the stove off the pallet it came on from Jotul. Before I knew it, he started banging away with a hammer trying to take the pallet apart. And yes, before my very eyes, he knocked a big chunk of cast iron out of the Jotul. His comment: “Man, that has never happened before!”. Fortunately, the replacement Jotul was installed without incident.
