View Chimney Balloon

The Chimney Balloon is an inflatable fireplace draft stopper that can be inflated into place in the fireplace flue just above the fireplace damper. The purpose of this device is to make an airtight seal that blocks outside air and chimney odor from entering the hearth and home living area. The chimney balloon comes readily available in standard sizes, but can also be ordered in custom sizes to fit any size fireplace.

The balloon portion of the Chimney Balloon is designed with a low heat melting point so that the balloon will release from the chimney quickly if a fire is accidentally ignited under it.

The Chimney Balloon was invented in 1989 by British inventor and plastic expert David Woodman of Aldershot, UK. It has been sold in the UK since 1991 and has been sold in the USA, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand since 2005.

Specific applications that the Chimney Balloon can be used with is.
-To replace or insulate a poorly operating damper.
-To act as a damper for a vented gas log fireplace, since building code determines that traditional dampers must be removed or disabled when a vented gas log is installed.
-To plug large fireplaces smoke shelfs or smoke chambers so cold air does not enter the home through the fireplace. – To seal the fireplace flue low and airtight, so chimney odors and fireplace smells do not enter the living area. – To plug standard heating vents or cold air returns

The Chimeny Balloon is sometimes refered to by its trademark name Chimney Pillow. Wholesale distribution in the USA and Canada is through Chimney Balloon USA. You can visit the site at the URLhttp://www.chimneyballoon.us
