Dan Melcon was a hearth industry icon, having been involved in everything from the startup days of Lopi Stoves and maturing into a writer and consultant for the industry as a whole. He knew EVERYONE in the industry and helped greatly with the early promotion of Hearth.com.
His wife, Annie Bauer, also worked in the industry as a very successfull rep for leading stove lines.
Dan contracted Kidney Cancer in 1999 and passed away soon after, leaving both his family and the industry as a whole industry deeply missing him.
