“Jetstream furnaces (later Tempest wood-burning boilers), were an advanced design of wood-fired water heaters conceived by Dr. Richard Hill of the University of Maine in Orono, Maine, USA. The design heated a house to prove the theory, then with government funding become a commercial product.”

Dick will be 91 in October, 2009. He continues to do presentations on energy efficiency, climate change and what works and doesn’t work in our energy challenged world.

Dick is on the Hot and Cold radio program with Tom Gocze every Saturday morning on WVOM 103.9 and 101.3FM
during the 9-10 hour. (www.hotandcold.tv)
He is also seen on the Hot and Cold TV program addressing frost heave issues, wood burning and other energy related topics.

Dick uses his bike to travel to the University of Maine campus on a daily basis as he has done for over 40 years.
