Posting a New Forum Topic

Welcome to the Hearth.com Forums!
Here are the instructions for posting a new topic in a Forum Room (section):
Quick Text Version:
1. Make sure you are registered on the forums and logged in – this will show at the top of the main forum screen.
2. Enter the room of your choice by clicking on the Name – i.e. Hearth Room, Boiler Room, etc. – YOU MUST FIRST BE IN A SPECIFIC ROOM BEFORE YOU CAN POST!
3. Hit the NEW TOPIC Button on the right side of your screen – it’s located just above where the forum announcements start.

Here is the longer and more detailed instructions with illustrations Be sure to notice red lines, circles and arrows in any of the drawings:

1. Go to the main forum page shown below – it is at this URL (web address):
http://www.hearth.com/econtent/index.php/forums/
a. Make certain you are registered and logged in (see top of screen)
b. Scroll down and look at the Forum Rooms to decide which best fits your topic
c. Click on the name of that Forum (example: Hearth Room) to enter

2.When you enter the Forum Room of your choice, you will see a screen similar to the image below. This screen, for instance, is at the URL:
http://www.hearth.com/econtent/index.php/forums/viewforum/2/
You are now inside a Forum Room and ready to post!
a. Find and press the “New Topic” Button as seen on the right hand side of the screen below

3. Enter your Topic Title, Topic text (Message), etc.
The image below shows the screen where you post your New Topic. At minimum, your topic must have a title and some text in the body. You can optionally add attachments (pictures) as well as other formatting. You can also choose whether you want to be notified when people answer in your Topic.
a. Fill in the required title and message – make the title relevant to your question!
b. Hit the Submit Post Button at the bottom of the “Post a New Topic” screen.
c. Your new topic is now posted.
