Replace battery in Timberline gas logs

I purchased a $300.00 Timberline gas log set last year. I experienced the same problem as many folks with the CO sensor beeping. I found that the battery “Module” needed to be repaced, however, found no-one who stocked them in Dallas. The log set would not work without the new battery “Module”. Upon closer examination of the complicated looking plastic box with the battery in it, i noticed that the little red and black wires running to the inside of the box were very similar to those found on a simple 9 volt battery connector. Operating on a strong suspicion I took a small hack saw and cut open the plastic box. Just as I thought – inside the “module” box was nothing other than a simple 9 volt battery available anywhere. I purchased a new battery from the 7-11, installed into the clip as you would any smoke detector, reinstalled the “module” into the Timberline CO detector and everything works fine.
