Here's the "official" word from Century:
 
	On Monday, April 13, 1998, it was announced that Max Gardner had
assumed the presidency of Century Fireplace Furnishings Inc. Mr. Gardner
replaces Russell DeTuzzi who has left the company for personal reasons.
 
	Mr. Gardner, one of the founders of Century Fireplace Furnishings,
brings over 35 years of experience within the fireplace accessory industry
to the position. Having begun his career with Puritan Fireplace, Mr.
Gardner left there in 1974 to help form Century Fireplace Furnishings, Inc.
 
	When asked to comment on his new position and the future of
Century, Mr. Gardner said, "Coming off one of the most dynamic HPA shows in
recent memory, I am extremely excited about the future of this company and
this industry. As we approach our 25th anniversary, I can't help but think
the best is yet to come!"
	All other positions within the company remain the same with Ray
Stewart serving as national sales manage, Lisa Sinclair heading up A/P &
A/R, Maryann Avigne in Customer Service and Data Processing, Jon Robinson
in purchasing and Bill Read in shipping and receiving. Everyone at Century
is looking forward serving (sic) the market screen needs in 1998 and beyond.
