Likes: Large hopper. So far the unit is heating my whole house(but it's only late October!) Separate thermostat for pellet stove (purchased separately) and electric ignition make it automatic. I expect that based on last year's gas consumption and the expected 40-70% increase in gas costs, the stove will pay for itself this year. The house also feels much warmer (I really had the thermostat cut down low when I was using the gas heat).
Dislikes: Glass smokes up.
Comments: I have the thermostate for the main gas furnace set a degree or two below the setting for the pellet stove, so if it gets too cold for the pellet stove to heat the whole house, the gas furnace will kick in. I also have the blower on the gas furnace "on" all the time, circulating the warm air from the pellet stove throughout the house. Using hardwood pellets which are burning very well and producing very little ash - pellets are manufactured by "Ozark" and I bought them from Home Depot - $169 per pallet; 50 bags of 40 pounds each, $59 to deliver 3 pallets to my garage.
