Likes: The Drolet Adirondack is a nice small stove and if it is only used to heat a small area 500-1500 Sq feet then it is ok. It is a good solid stove with a solid construction.
Dislikes: 7 1/2" by 14" opening makes it a little hard to put wood into the stove without the use of gloves. It also limits the size and the amount of wood that can be placed in the unit and keeps the burn time between 1-4 hours.
The main issue with the stove is that its ashes stay in the stove, due to its small wood box you can only run the stove for at the most 2 days before you need to shut it down and remove the ash. One thing I have noticed after 24 hours of use the fire starts to choke out due to the ash covering the air intakes at the back of the stove.
Also due to its small size and poor air flow you have to babysit the stove to make sure it doesn't go out.
Comments: The Drolet Adirondack would be a good stove for someone who only needs it to heat a small area for a limited amount of time. Like a workshop used for a few hours on a weekend.
But if you are tring to heat a basement then it falls short.
