Likes: This is my first season (2007-2008) with a woodstove in Northern NY. I couldn't afford a cast stove or soapstone lined stove so found the best "bang for the buck" at tractor supply with a Magnolia 2015 Distributed by US Stove. HUGE 3.2 cu.ft. firebox. You won't find many that heat 1,800 sq.ft with that large of a firebox. It will take a monster load of wood and bring your home up to temp in an hour or so. If vented and damped at the proper temperature with good vent pipe draft it will keep your house warm for 6-8 hours only dropping 4 degrees or so. It is an excellent stove for the money and has saved me alot in fuel oil this season. My wife loves it just as much as me...I would have never imagined that with people complaining that they are messy. They are only as messy as you let them get. We keep it super clean with a small shopvac in basement and a dustbuster that is quick easy and does a great job!

Dislikes: I don't use the ash pan. It tends to make more of a mess than anything because the top of the pan has a 3/8" gap between this surface and the bottom of the stove. Ashes float out throught the gap. I just shovel the ashes into a coal hod and take them out of the house. Also, this stove leaks some smoke into the room every time you open the door unless you have a super hot fire going in it. I have installed this unit to the manufacturers spec and provided plenty of combustion air to feed the draft and it still smokes a little when you open the door. I think it may be the design of the stove. There is a fresh air kit which can be purchased to couple on to the damper to feed the stove with outside air, but a window cracked very slightly will do the same. Before you purchase this stove, take it from this post...the stove smokes a little when opening the door.

Comments: We love the stove. I fall asleep on the couch in the same room almost every night. I have all I can do to pry myself up and go to bed. It is such a good way to enjoy a beer or a glass of wine with your wife after a day of work or in the cold. I don't think I'll ever be without a wood stove...especially with rising fuel costs.
