Likes: Fast lighting, easy effective damper control, good-sized firebox where wood can go sideways or straight in, good construction, looks good, heats well, little ash, great value.
Dislikes: Door glass got somewhat sooty but probably due to wood flames too close to it.
Comments: We had an old Hurricane wood "incinerator" that needed a lot of nursing and during really cold weather had to be burning very hot with full load. It was messy due to all the loading, cleaning and fire tending. This Napoleon is far superior and does everything promised. We're burning less than half the wood and getting more heat with less tending. Since the cost of this basic stove was significantly less than the other two we were considering (a Country ss210 and a Pacific Energy Super 27), we got all the options: Satin chrome legs and web pattern door, fan, thermostatic control and ash drawer. It makes a handsome unit. We've only had it a week or so but already know it's a winner. Highly recommended. As someone else reported, this stove's other reviews on this site are all #1 and that, plus the value, did it for us.
