Likes: Seems very solid and well made. Cranks the heat. My wife loves the look of the stove. Very easy to start fires. One very effective control. I have never had smoke backdraft into the room.
Dislikes: I don't like the fan very much. Seems low power, loud, and after 2+ months of burning seems to be giving out. I still love this stove though and would buy it again.
Comments: I spent months reading this forum and looking at stoves. The Pacific energy stoves everyone seems to like would not fit in my fireplace. I came down to the Olympic and the Kodiak and let my wife choose from an aesthetics standpoint. We have been burning basically 24/7 since the end of September and the house has been warm. We stopped only for the 2 days we were in the hospital having our first child. We now live in the living room with the fireplace, after rarely using the room in the past. My wife says this is the best purchase we ever made. Burn times are mixed, but I think that is due to type of wood (ponderosa) and limited seasoning. The first night I easily went 6 hours and started from coals in the morning.
