Likes: I purchased this unit November of 2008. I got a delivery of wet oak wood and struggled all last winter burning through 3 cords of wood. I learned quickly, and got my wood in March. You have to burn wood that is at least 9 months split and seasoned to get good heat. This unit really heats my small house. The house is over 60 years old and not well insulated. The fireplace is in the center of the house. I did install new windows this year and I am laughing at the cold weather. My heater never runs. I load the unit before bed and it runs till morning. I run this unit 24/7 and am using half the wood I used the first year.
Dislikes: I can be difficult to get the ashes out in the morning when the unit has embers. The blower fan has a high pitch and can be a little annoying. I keep the fan on low. I don’t see cleaning the glass once a week being a big deal. You are burning wood..
Comments: I love not having to burn oil and only using one tank of oil all year for hot water and heat.
