Likes: Maintains a beautiful health flame even on low setting; Runs quietly; Cools down quickly so I can clean the ashes and get the stove going with minimal down time; Hardly makes a dent on my electric bill; Best of all, even on a "C" (mid) level, it puts out enough heat to keep the main living areas of my house comfortably warm until the temp drops below 30 degrees - when it's colder than that I put my second stove (Breckwell free standing) on.
Dislikes: The decorative log is fragile. I've used this stove for 3 full heating seasons, am my second log, and it's definitely on its way out. Maybe it's because I run the stove daily during heating season and around the clock in the dead of winter?
Comments: I find that Dry Creek pellets agree with my Breckwell better than other brands I've tried. Energex is good, but the fire is much stronger with Dry Creek and the clean up is easier. The worst pellet I've tried is Cozy Comfort. Unless you like vacuuming ashes, I wouldn't recommend it. Also, I'd highly recommend Berkshire Stoves if you live in the vicinity of Danbury, CT. They're very honest, very helpful and are doing a great job of teaching me to do my own stove maintenance. (Pellet service specialists are hard to find around here.)
