Hello everyone just signed up and looking for some input on the above furnace. Had one installed about a month ago and within 12 hours things started moving sideways. Motor was making a grinding noise and the cutters were not turning. Motor was to hot to touch. The #2 light was flashing and there was no fire in the pot. They installed without the shield, to begin with. After getting it running for a few hours here and there, I discovered the shaft was not turning the cutters and motor just sitting there cooking away.

Went in and discovered the shaft was not connected into the cutters. Techs had been out once or twice already. Tech came out saw the problem and got it running by moving shaft closer to the cutters so they would engage. We were waiting on a new blower and motor. After a week the motor and blower showed tech came out and installed new parts. Within two hours we were back to square one, no flames and now a loud grinding noise. Tech came back put in a new thermostat thinking that might be issue. Again within a few hours we were in the fault mode again.

Main tech is scratching his head and ordered a new burn pot. we are waiting for that to show, in the mean time he showed my wife how to mickey mouse it into working. Being the inquisitive type she went up stairs and turned the t-stat off and back down to furnace, and got it to operate in the smart start mode with the thermostat turned off.

I have been traveling and get home tomorrow to look at this thing again. Wife went to dealer yesterday to let them know of the displeasure I have been suffering while this does not work.

So my main question is anyone else have start up issues with there Revolution furnace? Did I just get one that was built on a Tuesday after a 3 day weekend. If next fix doesn't work I will ask for a completely new furnace. At least I haven't paid for this one yet so I know the dealer is working on it. Thanks for any input you might have, and apologize for being so long but I have left out several service calls that have failed.

The flashing #2 light is a loss a vacuum issue. The dealer should check your venting for any obstructions, the gasket on the doors. It also coukd be a faulty combustion motor. A new pot will not fix a vacuum issue. I really like the St. Croix units and once you get it up and tunning you will like them as well. If the dealer is unable to fix your unit you can always call St. Croix technical service and ask for Larry or Shelly.

I'm thinking it's the motor as well they replaced the first one and it seems to bind up after a few hours. The motor gets extremely hot. I am hoping I can get this resolved shortly as I do like the furnace, for the heat it gives off, but the wife is not so sure of this unit. I will be home later today and get to look at it myself. Thanks for the response.

There are a few owners here with this Furnace. Hossthehermit owns one and has had it for a few seasons.

If you post this in the Pellet Forum, you may get a better "Bite". I own a Pellet Furnace, but only frequent the Furnace section every once in awhile.

Maybe start a new thread. Or start a conversation with Hoss?

Well had the installer come out and he brought the St. Croix rep with him as he was in town. They had installed a new burn pot the visit before which I new was going to happen but not allready. The rep was on the line with the tech and everything seems to be operating fine now after the new burn pot was put in. Seems the pot was binding up on the shaft and the cutters could not turn, and the stove would go into default. Supposed to get cooler for the next couple days so we will let it run a little more. So far so good. Thanks Dexter I will spend some time there as well as we have a regular pellet stove for the other half of the house.

Just a follow up had have no trouble since new motor installed. everything has been working great and wife is happy, which makes me happy. I like the heat this puts out on the thermostat mode as it keeps the boys room and play room warm all day. I would recommend this furnace, to any one wanting to install.
