Craigslist offering:

I am selling a 2006 Stihl MS290 Farm Boss Chainsaw with one spare chain. Has been converted to a 18" Oregon Powermatch Bar with full chisel chain (very aggressive cutting, opperator should be trained in chainsaw use). I have the original 20" bar. Has been garage kept and taken very good care of. Asking $200.00 cash, no checks and pick-up only.

What you guys think?

With new B & C and Full Chisel. Ask for a little more, so you can settle or let him haggle you down (everyone likes to think they got a deal).

But I see it as a Fair price.... But ask for $225-$250 and go down.

Lol...guess my post read as the seller. I'm the buyer and I love your feedback.

Ok.... Good deal... Offer $150-$175.. I always add more for wiggle room. Buyer always wants to think he got a deal.

He didnt put firm, so I am guessing there is at least $25 to haggle on.

$200 for a lightly used 290 ain't a bad deal. Don't feel bad if he doesn't want to take less.

Stax - I saw that ad too, not looking to buy it though, just watching CL for an MS 261. I recently sold my MS 290 and in fact bought my 261 yesterday. I wanted to post pics, but my wife took the camera with her on her "girls weekend". I'm close to Landenberg too FYI. Good Luck - I liked my 290, but came to the conclusion it was not the right saw for me. PM me if you want - I know of a few used saws for sale not on CL. One's a 310 for about the same price and about the same condition but is at a Stihl dealer.

The original 20" bar is worth at least $25 if it's not wrecked.

I'd take a 310 over the 290 anyday, especially if it was the same price.
Same here. And its at the dealer, at least they would answer your questions.
Good to build a relationship also. JMO

but 175 is a good deal if you like the saw.::P

They also had an 036 that was not very cosmetically appealling, but I trust it runs solid and know they would have fully gone over it before putting it up for sale. $250 for that one.

Clyde...I'll have to contact you on that one. I need to wait a little to free up some cash though.
