Should have had something in this shot for scale. Not as big as a luna moth, but huge

The new pup weighs in at a surprising 9.7#. I thought he was less. Should put on a few before he's done growing, plus he was living on the street a month ago, so this is his fightin' weight

I love ferns...all of them. The rabbits foot fern is neato..
When I was a kid my aunt had a friggin huge a$$ one...I thought it was the coolest thing.

Cool pics AP. It is the little things like this that remind me to stop and smell the flowers once in awhile. The outdoors is soooo "outdoorsy".

That moth looks like a bat going to a fancy dress party...
The pups are adorable.

It's not a Death's Head Hawk Moth, but the gray spot in the middle of the back does have a faint skull-like look about it. I found a pic of a similar moth, but can't find a name. I'll call her Delores.

Dolores how original...wonder how you came up with that..laughing.gif

. I have lots of native ferns growing with hostas- I love them too

I am a big Hosta fan....I have them everywhere....all kinds. I think there were some comments on hostas in another thread but I did not want to hijack it....so I'll do it here.
Mother Gamma splits hers and brings them to my house and vice versa. We have all different varieties.
I have yet to get the gargantuan hostas...those are friggin the bomb....I planted some elephant ears this year and they are just starting to come up...a lil freakin late though. Hey, is that Backwoods Savage in the giant hosta pic?;lol

it must be a year for large insects...I seen a 4" long Dobson Fly the other day....my neighbor screamed like a lil girl when he saw it. funny. nice moth. that either a big hosta or a very very small man...I've going with tiny man.

welcome to "Lago", I mean "Hell".
