There's firewood in the background, so I guess it's wood heat related. Those stacks will be moved to the shed soon. Been a lot of deer traffic through my property lately but they've been taking random paths and missing the trail camera.

Nice shot... We have four big crab apple trees in the yard and with the drought its one of the only things to eat around. The deer will stand in the distance in the evening until I come out and shake the trees...they get really interested when they hear the crab apples falling....ha

I would bet that she has a fawn following behind her. There's not really that many deer in my neighborhood and the only ones my neighbor and I have seen lately are the same doe and fawn.
The neighbor to the north and I are sort of a dog-free travel route, so the deer tend to use our properties when passing through.

Andrew Jackson, Harry S Truman and myself were watching a deer this morning in our back yard . . . apples are starting to drop which means the deer (and turkeys) will be making more regular visits out back. Fun to watch.

Me and Michelle, the woodpile cat, have just been sitting in the back yard with a mess of deer grazing on the grass around us. One of the does dropped triplets this year. Twice that has happened in the last four years. And one of the lil bucks from last year is in velvet. When he gets antsy the cat runs him into the woods.
Now, if a wild hog would just pass through. I love venison sausage.

Yup. Blacktail.
I'm seeing lots of tracks in my back yard, but the doe and fawn are the only ones I, or my neighbor, have seen in person lately. They come through almost daily. Last year in late summer and early fall some of the other neighbors saw a few different bucks around. Last buck I've heard of anyone seeing recently was the little spike that got hit by a car a few months ago.
