New Mass Renewable Credits

Anyone thinking about doing any upgrades or new systems in Mass should do some research on upcoming incentives. I listended to a webinar yesterday from the Mass DOER and they have lots of money to spend on all sorts of renewable options, they listed upcoming programs for pellet boilers, wood stove upgrades, OWB replacements, solar hot water and electirc, geothermal and probably a few others. They didnt discuss the value of the rebates but many of the options have one hundred to 1 millions dollars int he kitty. A lot of the programs are not in place but will be phased in. Most have limited numbers of systems so its first come first served. Might be worth doing some reasearch at Mass Clean Enery Center website and see if there are any incentives now or upcoming that might fit a project you already planned.

I dont live in Mass, so I will let those who do figure out the details.

I just received an interesting notice that there is a program for a $1K credit toward replacing electric DHW heaters with heat heat pump DHW - that is quite a credit in my opinion. Down side is it is only good if you are replacing an electric hot water tank so no 'fuel change' but for those heating with older electric water tanks this could be a good deal.

I've been watching the solar DHW program as well, not close enough to know details, but at least there is one now. I intend to investigate to see what the costs may be again as it has been a while.

Worth watching, never know when the right program will come along.

Do you have any more info on this or a link to a website?

My electric heater is probably on it's last leg and if i can get a $1000 off a new one ($1400) i will gladly take a new heat pump water heater for $400
