Carl's latest invention? ::-)

I understand he thought the complaint he was getting about the Carl Model spark bucket had to do with physical appearance and not about burning plastic and trash.

Yes, you are right Dexter. When I fired up the stove, I saw the smoke really squirting out. That helps to push the smoke away from the shingles. A really good design! I like it. I wish I could use it for my stove but my stove goes into the original center house chimney.

Being a Dealer, cant you cut yourself a Deal?

I would have the "Best" Chit if Ibwas a dealer ;) LOL

Just bustin your chops Don... But the Hudson River would have made its way into my basement and I would have sold the Astoria (refurb'd of course :)) just because of the BTU's and the options it had over your Avalon.

A bigger stove with more bells and whistles is always Better ;) IMO

Yes, that Hudson River West Point is Awesome! I am an older NE guy that does not change things too quickly now. Maybe I will change the Astoria some day. I know what you are saying. That Hudson River West Point sure taught me alot. I guess it had one more lesson for me! Because of the 3" air intake, my dealer parts support guy suggested the Selkirk DT venting and it made the planning tougher but wow I learned alot yesterday on the DT install! Absolutely awsome venting system in every way.

BTW, I am really trying to hang onto the Quad SantaFe. That small stove is such a POWERHOUSE! Also since it uses a T-Stat it is wicked stingy on burning the wood pellets for heating the shed!

I fired up the AH 6041 tonight. It really cranks out the heat, the shed zoomed up to 80 in no time. It is 48 Deg F outside.
Did you know it has no heat tubes like the 25-PDVC? Does your 10-CPM have heat tubes?
However it was on the T-stat which did nothing!
There is a jumper between the T-Stat terminals and nothing in the Manual. I know US Stove has a secret tech manual and I probably have to call them so they can read me a few more passages!

Thanks Very nice! Looks like it is easy to keep clean! Did u bolt the cap on with self tappers?

Do u have a pic of the back of the stove? How high are your inside vertical sections?

If you are talking about the cap in the picture, no. It is just a pipe cap that a bunch of us here got for free as a sample from a company that makes them.
My inside vertical section is a 3' piece.
Here is a picture of behind the stove.

All measurements had to be very exact. In my shed I have a couple of slip joint pellet pipe to adjust the height but no height adjustments can be made like that here!
Adj. length pipe is available for DT. FYI. just sayn.

There is a 12" adjustable from 4" To 10".

That would come in handy if the stove was changed. Then the 2 foot section I put in could be replaced by 2 adjustable sections. Another way would be to take out the 2 - 2' sections and put 1 adjustable and 1 - 3' section.
Either way the plumbing plate would most likely need to be raised up so the pipe goes right into the back of the stove.

Wow, very nice. The AC outlet is really convenient and the electrical wires are well hidden! Is that a 45 going into the stove adapter?

Thanks mepellet

Great setup! That must really crank!

Took care of the house on the coldest nights last year.... We like it a lot. Only used oil for a couple weekend trips and to heat our domestic hot water.

Way to go! The oil trucks must pass you by all winter!

Hello

Finally had a chance to paint the venting black and get some pics of the LED lighted hearth.

All done for now!

Also I installed a Lux LTS1500U T-Stat set to manual mode with swing setting 8 (2 Deg F) on the other side of the room set to 68 Deg F which will fire the stove when the room drops below 66 Deg F and shut down the stove when the room is 70 Deg F.

That LED glow would scare the crap out of me the first couple times I saw it. On my stove, the glow from the red status LED reflecting off the wall has gotten me a few times. Thought it was in melt down mode.

That is why we chose amber color rope light. It matches the fire. That Selkirk DT venting is absolutely awesome! The pellet ash is always dry as a bone! No caking ash in the burn pot at all! NONE.
