Just got off the interweb with 3 new recipes for pickled green tomatoes. Anybody here do them, like them, hate them? Favorite recipes?

Tried 'em twice, didn't dig 'em. Do a pepper/onion/ cauli/carrot combo now.
I would suggest "pickle crisp" calcium carbonate, though. Really makes hot pack stuff stand up to the processing
Good luck!

Most of what I have been looking at is refrigerator pickles, not hot pack. I have no use to do twenty jars or anything. Just a few jars to play around with. Most say that if kept cold that they will last months in the fridge. (I have a giant beer fridge that could donate some space to this type of stuff.)

Gonna try regular green tomatoes cut into wedges (refridge style) and I think I might try green cherry tomatoes with a hot bath. Available time is my enemy.

Never made them, but have had some very good ones done up by friends. My favorite are always those with some kick to them, as in adding some jalapenos (or the pepper of choice) to the brine.

I love them in combination with some catfish, pintos, cornbread and mixed greens.

And beer!

How about a good Hungarian Relish recipe. Good stuff to put in your chili.

I have a hand full of chilies that will be making it into the process.

I had some stuff called "tomato pickle" but not pickled tomatoes. Tomato pickle (if that's even its real name) is like a salty tomato paste. I guess it is popular in India...Indian dude gave me some.

Spicy brined veggies rock. I hope they turn out good for you.
