Exterior looks good but that is only part of it. If you are interested I'd suggest looking at it first as it is too difficult to tell with only a picture.

How old is it? If it's in excellent condition they they may get the asking price. This is peak season now and good stoves are commanding a premium. But you might try offering $1200 cash. I seem to recall Woodstock had the Keystone on sale for about $1800 just a few months ago, but now they are up to $2299. Did you call Woodstock to see if they have any refurbished units?

If you are willing to take a bit of a drive, here is one at half the price:
$775

People always seem to have inflated ideas of what their stoves are worth. There have been 2 nice looking fireviews posted around here for months at 1500 and 1800. Really.

I agree, I see lots of stoves, many years old.. many pre EPA, sometimes with a new coat of paint sometimes not, for a whopping 25% off new MSRP. not realistic

I wander CraigsList looking for good stoves, much like Caine from Kung Fu wanders the earth looking for enlightenment...

Yes, it's a lowball. I would offer $1000 and be prepared to pay $1200. This is peak season now.

Agreed. $800 is too low. You will get shot down without a counter offer.

Seems like Woodstock has a "sale" every month or two.

I paid about $800 for a 20 year old fireview 201 and then redid the interior (baffle, gaskets, cat, hood, bypass plate etc.) for an additional $200. Look for an older one if $800 is your budget. I really wanted it at $700 and he wanted $950 and we got stuck at $800. It beat $1900 (price at the time) for a new one.

Keep in mind the cat is about $100.
