Sweet rig.....Whatever it takes....

I want one of those!

One of the best tools I ever bought. I use it for everything.

I saw a nice, 5 foot wide or so skidsteer mount grapple bucket at the fair.

Tractor already has skidsteer mount plate, and hydros up front. It would make cutting tree length a snap.

I thought about a tooth bar grapple to help clear the brush in the woods, but they are expensive.

This is the sub compact series. The loader can handle 600# and the backhoe can lift about 850.

But I am old....

So you're old & spoiled :)
Sweet set up.
What attachments do you have?

Now back to the log, what kind was it?

Nice setup there.
How much wood do you reckon you can you process in a week, say?

What do you mean, "don't laugh"? Do you really think anyone with good sense would do it any other way if they had a machine like that?LOL The only thing better I could think of was a skid steer with grapple bucket. More maneuverable. So, yeah, what kind of log is it? Looks like a black birch.....

I have a york rake, ballast box, a racthet rake for the bucket, and some forks for pallets. I also have a 16" bucket for the backhoe, as well as the mechanical thumb. I started a thread here on the log. https://www.hearth.com/talk/threads/tree-id.91289/#post-1194619 I am sure I will pestering you folks alot because I am no good, or new should I say, at identifiying trees.

Nice!! I plan to one day have that attachment for my tractor. It was my response to my bro-in-law when he asked how much longer do I think I'll be able to cut/burn firewood. As long as I can get fuel for the tractor! :)

Baxbad2. Do u split h or v?

nice....i have a little JD 1026R with front end loader and mower but no back hoe. the bucket loader saves a bunch on a old tired back. plus, fill the bucket with wood and take it to the splitter or take the splits to the drying pile. i have the 27 ton splitter.....most of my splitting is done vertical. easier right now for me because i have some big rounds. matter of fact...i hear my little diesel calling now.;)

I call it smart. Work smarter, not harder!

I find it easier to use the splitter in the upright position. For those big rounds.
