Log 3 ID, I Think I Got This One!

Cut this one up today. I think it is shagbark hickory. It even had some leaves still on it.

Shaggy bark Hickory Jack Pot! :cool:
 
I think you've got it. That isn't the shaggiest Shagbark I've ever seen, but it is shaggy enough to identify. My guess is if that tree had gotten older it would have become a lot more shaggy.
 
Yea! I got one! There are a couple more logs in the pile that look like this one too.

These apears to come off of a logging truck.;) Lots of that shaggy is knock off on it journey! :)
