Blaze King sounds amazing, I don't get anywhere near that kind of time from my Quad 3100. We feed that hungry box 1 or 2 times an night, must be doing something wrong.

We didn't buy a BK because they look so good. For me it was just about only because of the long burn time at low output. This is impossible from a non-cat stove and only about half as good with any other cat stove competitor.

With a tube stove you only see a nice fire for a couple hours anyway, after that you're just looking at a heaping load of coals. I get to watch a nice fire for a half hour to an hour while I'm burning in a load and after that it goes lights out, I'm ok with the trade off. If I was retired and home all day I'd like to try a Summit, until then the BK will do the trick "until" the next best thing comes along.

I hear ya. When I was gone 18 hours a day that would have been wood burner's nirvana. Well until I got home. I could have had a wood furnace in the basement getting it done.

I never throw rocks at BK and its burners. Well, unless they throw them at the rest of the stove owners out there. BK is the heat pump of wood stoves. Most efficient suckers on the block.

And I wouldn't heat this joint with one of them on a bet.

The better my wood is the less muck on the glass.
Been burning some 2 yr old spruce for a few days on low & the glass is black on the edges but not bad.

I had a stove with no glass, did ok with it.
Maybe I should get the all steel door, won't notice the black glass then.
I like the glass better though, but it does get dirty.

It's in the basement , cranks out heat & burns clean.
EPA folks like it.
I'll clean it sometime next spring, maybe.

Last night I loaded up and burned hot at #3 for a good 30 minutes and the glass mostly cleared up except the lower edges. I got way too hot in here so I had to turn it down and the glass blackened back up just like my last picture. I'm ok with the dirty glass, the stove's heating performance is my main concern and so far it's delivering with consistant 24 hour burns keeping the house in the mid 70's.

I use one of these. No scratches yet. And yeah, I don't really worry about it. I had to peel off a little yesterday so I could watch it when I fired it back up.View attachment 76147
