Had a good frost last night and fired up the T-5 and have kept it going all day.. Just a couple pieces at a time to prevent being cooked out.. Stove is running great!

Thanx Zap I think at the time it was ash and I've been mixing in some of the compressed wood logs from TSC. Those burn very well too. My inside wood rack was nearly empty and I had to wait until my son came home to help bring in some wood.

Thanx! The cats generally hang out around the stove :)

I have some of those compressed wood blocks from TSC as well but have never used them. Do they extend your burn time at all? They claim to burn up to 2 1/2 times longer than natural wood splits I think. And I agree that is a very nice set up you have Ray.

I am use to seeing the CDW on that hearth. How do you like the new stove compared to the CDW?

I find they burn similar time to wood but very hot so I only use a couple at a time.. I just wanted to see how well they burn. Thanx for the compliment!

Hello G-man! You never saw the CDW on this hearth but you did see the chimney. I removed the bluestone hearth as it was too small and it was heaving due to poor installation in my opinion. I much prefer the porcelain tile as it blends into the chimney stone better. As for the burning the T-5 I find it so much easier to use plus it burns much cleaner than the CDW with a very short learning curve. I haven't seen a single back-puff with this stove either but that may be more of a cat vs secondary burn thing rather than a stove brand thing. The fireview with secondaries creates a nice ambiance too. So far I love this stove and it produces much more BTU's than the CDW!

Looking good Raybonz.
Thanx Todd! Have you posted pics of your BK princess? I bet those long slow burns are great this time of year!

Very nice looking raybonz....love the look of a T5 Freestander.
Thanx S&F I have been pleased with the heat output with this stove. I also love the look of the T-5 insert! How large a home are you heating with the T-5 insert and has it met your expectations? Some people thought I should have gone to the T-6 but I think that would have been too much stove for my home.

Nice looking install- i like the look of that stove.
Thanx f3! I like the look of cast iron and also soapstone but more importantly I like the convective heat and soft heat that this stove provides. If I need to warm up fast the front provides intense radiant heat as well.

That pictures just says "comfort". Very nice. I never get tired of seeing pics like these.

Ray, not only do I like your wood shed but also love your install. That is nice.
