Finally got a chance to post a couple pics of the new P43. Didn't catch it on a higher burn but it's a beauty and puts out monster heat! Shoulda got my shoes out of the way and yes it is plugged into a surge suppressor!

Manual says 6" measured from the glass. I'm at 5". Could move it back a little more. Might get another inch.

Looks nice, Welcome to the club!

What was on the Hearth before the Harman? (Sorry for not remembering)

Looks great. How does the heat compare? Harmans have a Great Heat exchange system.

Dexter,
The hearth originally had a Kodiak wood stove, then replaced it with a 25-PDVC in '07. Of course the Kodiak could put out more heat than I could stand to very close to, and the ESW was a great stove that put out more heat than we really needed in this part of the house, but the Harman feels more like the wood stove with the radiant heat that comes off of it in addition to the hot air from the heat exchanger. This thing can put out some really hot air when it fires up even with the feed rate dialed back to about 3.5. Its kind of warm now but when it really gets cold, I'm sure it will do the job.

Looks great, enjoy.

I went to three different Harman dealers. One didn't seem to be interested at all in selling a stove, another was very knowledgable but a little arrogant, the third (the one we bought from) was great! He and his wife run the place (a small shop) and they are doing this as a retirement business but I hope they keep at it for a long time! Did you end up buying another stove?

The last place that you mentioned are the dealers that you hope only have success. Our local Harman dealer is about 1 minute from our house and they were a combination of the first 2 places that you went to (did not care if we bought a stove there and very arrogant). They have been in business for several years but I think that they have their core customers. O well there loss! Yes we did get a stove, we ended up going with the Cumberland mf3800. That dealer was super nice, new his stuff, we have heard that his installs are very nice and he stands behind everything that he sells. Unfortunatly he can't install it till the 31st but it is suppose to be near 70 this week so I guess we can wait.

Congrats on your new stove. I've read a lot of good comments about the Cumberland stoves. Is this your first pellet stove?

Moral of the story shop for the dealers as much as you shop for the stove. Nice install !!

Nice stove, I just installed the same thing and after a little bit of a rocky start I'm so far loving it.

Hope it wasn't too much of a rocky start. Seems like a very nice stove to me so far!
