May your Dodge "keep on truckin' until it fits the category of "A good tool pays for itself". It's all free from here on out (except the cost of fuel). Congrats on getting it payed off...

Congrats

. . . $15,000, and a $3500 injector pump, my truck (1999 Dodge 3500 CTD 4x4) is finally paid off.

That is all.

Time to go new truck shopping. It's the American way.

Nice Bigg Redd. Always cool to be without a vehicle payment. Good for you man.

Congrats!
Great feeling isn't is?
In NH we can go without insurance too which would save us $100 per month. As much as I dislike auto insurance, I just know the second I drop it, Some putz will blow a stoplight while texting and drinking his cup of coffee.

Mine (98.5) is getting long in the tooth. Put a pump in it this summer. Cost about 1600$ from Industrial Injection

Getting to the point I don't like to take it far. Seems like its one thing after another. Only has 235,000 on it too. My 95 that I sold had almost 400,000.

The nicest part is the $300 payment and $70 per month in insurance I will now keep in my pocket.

Small piece of advice. I bought my truck new in '03. It was paid off before it was 3yrs old. At 5 years old I had the misfortune of falling asleep on my way home from work. Even though the truck was paid for I kept full coverage on it.

Vehicle Damage: $12,750
Telephone Pole Replacement: $13,200

My total out of pocket expense....$500. I'll tell you this. People used to think I was crazy for keeping full coverage, I will NEVER go without it after that morning. It's only a couple bucks a day but let me tell you, if you need it...it's a whole lot better if it's there than if it's not.

I have a "spare" truck that is not used often at all. I added that to my policy with another vehicles under "storage" insurance- covers damage from fire/storms etc and theft. Total premium went down. Go figure. Multi-car discount.

Good job BR that's one of the best feelings in the world. Paid off our vehicle 01 blazer 4 and our 98 s10 6 years ago and have not looked back. There isn't much in this world that could drag me kickin and screaming back into a car payment. Hopefully in a few years it will look good still and run well for you.

Good job
Pete

I bought a new 99 Ford Ranger 4x4 ext cab (loaded / $25,000). I almost didnt get there "Gap" insurance (Ford pays what insurance wont).

It was $16 extra a month. Well, I got it. Thank God. I only made one payment in Nov of 1999 and I rolled and totaled the truck after 1 month (under 1,500 miles on the odometer). State Farm was only gonna pay for $17,500 (even though I just bought it for $25,000) and Ford picked up the remaining $8,000 with only one little payment. I get the "Gap" insurance all the time now.

Good job B R... Feels good to own your chit. My F-1 has paid paid off for over 5 yrs. Tempting to not by a new rig (need a 3/4 or 1 ton diesel) :)

Meh. . . I've got pretty high liability coverage, which I will keep, but I'm not spending an extra $70 per month for the rest of my life for full coverage.

The only thing we owe on is the house. I refuse to buy anything with money that isn't mine (could have done the house too, but it's a long story).

Congrats!

CTD should be good for around a million miles. Love my 97 Ram, wish it was diesel, though.

Yeah...it's a 99 so the replacement value really isn't there anyways. The INS Co would most likely total it before they fixed it. I should of added anything less than 10years old.
