All was good with the felling of the Cherry, it's all split but still up in the woods. I used the 660 on the bigger part of the tree then grabbed the 390 for the rest. In pic 6252 I did some cleaning of the forest floor so I could come in the backside so it would save from moving rounds to the splitters original position.

I never used the plunge cut.

Quality looking fire wood, cherry just makes nice looking piles & stacks.
A fun wood to split when you have big rounds like that.

Good job. You're getting good at this stuff LOL :)

Tell the truth, it's just fun to run the "Big Dog" :)

Nice Job Zap, sweet wood!

Nice work Zap, great looking pile you have there!

Yes it is, I'm glad I listen to Smokin. The 390 still gets most of the work.

bacffin, we love burning Cherry, it seems to come down more than any other tree. Once I started to hear the cracking I was out of there.

dylskee, it sure smells good when splitting it, just hope I can get it down before the first big snow. Tomorrow will be spent moving some two year old wood so I can stack this in that area, I thought about burning this next year but I'll hold off.

Zap, that cherry looks alot bigger laying on the ground than it did leaning in the other picture
She made a loud thud when it hit, !!! I'll concentrate on getting the cherry along with the maple off the hill before winter, we'll see what this storm does to that trail.

Yes zap! That is one of the best looking cherry trees I've seen. Happy burning.

Just the Cherry, it was never supported by the maple but it did brake off a small limb from the top of the maple on it's way down.

Glad you were safe out there today zap. Great pictures!! Now just get through the next 3 days, and you'll have years of cutting to do. Be well my friend.

The cutting I'm not worried about, it's those big white pines on the eastside of the house. You guys stay safe in PA.
