The Duramax Fuel Caddy

With the storm that hit the east coast and with winter coming up we grabbed this 14 gallon Duramax Fuel Caddy.

With our other gas tanks we should have enough for the generator to get us through some power outages.

I just sold mine in anticipation of the move. Good idea to have some spare fuel line lying around- the stuff that came with mine was not especially fuel-stable and started to break down after 6 months. Also, the nozzle snout broke off easily- I bought a spare and it's still lying in the toolbox... let me know if you need it.

On the other hand, as a tool it served its purpose admirably. Best bet was to put it on a shelf above the typical height of the tank(s) you fill- that way you can let gravity do the work instead of messing with the siphon.

Will do BrotherBart, we live in a small town(one gas station) so it won't be filled until we are in for a bad storm.

Bluedogz, thanks for the info and the offer, hopefully we won't need to use it. The shelve or bench is a good idea.

They were the only place that had one when I was looking, the cheapest too.

I know a few who use one for boat gas. I've never heard anybody complain about them. I imagine they would be heavy to get in and out of a truck though. I still use the WWII surplus gerry cans that my grandfather picked up and Vietnam vintage nozzle that followed my father home in his bag.
