Confusion with Splitters.

Can some one tell us humble pions how a splitter actually works!
Like the engine hooks to the ...........................

The engine hooks to a pump. The pump generates force by filling the cylinder with hydraulic fluid. The size of the cylinder and pressure supplied by the pump determine the speed and force generated.

Pumps oil (hydraulic fluid) to one side of a piston inside the ram assembly to push it out, then to the other side to push it back in.
Control valve controls which direction the fluid flows in or out or stationary.
Engine & hydraulic pump supply the energy to move the oil to make it all happen.

And then some splitters raise the maul over the head and come down with much force, thereby splitting the wood immediately or else this causes some to emit some very harsh words which are not fit to print on this forum.

At about the age of 16 you take your male offspring out side and introduce him to the handle of the mall as well as the "Chopping block". Instruct him how to raise the mall above his head(Taking care not to hit said head) and drive the wedge shaped end of mall into the log with such force as to split the log into two. Keep the splitting process up until the split sections are of size to fit into your stove. Continue until all unsplit logs are gone.

Hah, that sounds like my childhood way back when. The only diffeance was my dad would put the old David Bradly chainsaw in my hands and tell me to cut some wood. That old DB saw was 1 woppin monster saw for a 10 year old I'm tellin ya. But back then I was happy to have a chainsaw.
