Had a big maple and a cherry taken down at my wife's rental. She wanted a little saw to trim the limbs, so I got her a 170 at my local dealer. Had about $40 off in coupons so it was a good deal. Nice little saw with a 14" bar.

Nice new saw,
Will you get to use it? :)

See some dead stuff there, good to get the tree down before it went the wrong way at the wrong time ;)

I made a couple cuts with it just to check it out. With a ported 260 and Husky top handle, I don't see myself ever using it

Yes, the maple had been standing dead for longer than it should have been. Nice thing about it is it is stove ready. Probably close to a cord and a half. I also had a chance to run the ported 372 with a 32" bar and full comp chain....... even buried in the trunk it pulled with authority.

5 truck loads so far and we are only about half way done.

Put the money you saved on coupons towards chaps if you haven't already done so.

I spent the majority of the day cutting with my "new" used 440 mag I picked up yesterday (traded ammo for 440 mag), at least till about 3:00 when the rain started. But what I enjoyed the most was limbing out the small stuff with my little saw (191T today). I'm sure your wife loved it too. Everyone should have a big and little saw .... at least one of each  No reason to burn up your big beast on little limbs. Besides, cutting up those big trunks becomes boring repetitive work ..... but limbing at all the varying angles and sizes and stuff makes it interesting. Good luck with that little gal.

Where bouts are you in NE OH, I'm in Diamond, probably south of you.

I'm in Wooster, between mansfield and canton.

Ah, west of me, I'm right off 76 between Akron and Youngstown. No more cutting for me for a few days, the rain softened up my dirt logging road and I don't want to leave ruts. I timbered out about 120 trees in May, most all of the tops are still lying out back waiting for me to get at them. I've been running a "cut your own firewood" thing out here too to help clean them up.

Same for me here except for finishing up this job. I waited all last winter to have a tract timbered I have access to. They never got in. Now they just finished and 200 tops are available for the taking, but it's under water again. Hope it freezes this winter.

Nice saw..probably super lite weight too.

WTF no flippy caps?==c Nice saw & nice job on the maple HS. A C

Thats how the story will start......

Well ya see kids, It all started when we got the little 170 :)

Then before we knew it, she was wielding a Woods Ported 660 Mag by Mastermind!!!

Looks like a good bunch of wood.

I just got a new place to cut yesterday. Went to look at another Dirtbike for my Son on CL and the guy had over a dozen trees down, just in the short drive back to his house (all wooded). Made a joke about taking them off his hands and he told me, "By all means, you can take every one". So my kid got his bike, and I got a good wood contact out of it. It was a good day
