Couple of blown over trees that were easily accessible.
Alot of the stuff from sandy is in a mangled pile or cut up to random sizes that are dangerous to pull over and grab.
The first pic is in the wooded area on the jobsite I'm working on.
The second is in the back yard. I am standing on the roof to take the pic.

It is so nice cutting trees that are blown over. Because they are just floating above the ground
I just start at one the top and cut and drop and cut and drop.
No need to roll it over to avoid hitting the ground.

Nice pics.
Surprised to see so many leaves & green brush still.

Having fun cutting the stuff up, makes for a good day.
Plus a nice amount of good hardwoods to add to the stacks ;)

Dave, that green stuff does catch your eye at this time of the year. Mike, that is some prime firewood.

one word......JACKPOT!

Nice score, Mike. Plenty of surplus for ya, for sure!

Good loking stuff there ;)

There is obviously a boat load all over the place.
But this was just so prime for the taking.
I have plenty more in the area that aren't as easy to get
But is still doable. I'll see if I can grab some pics if that.

Mike, what is it with you and heights? Contractors........... Haha

The higher the better. Mmmmm..... Not that kind if high I mean heights.
I love it. I should have been and iron worker. Now that's some high!

Certainly no shortage of oak on the north shore. The day after the storm I had to cut my way through 4 nice sized oaks in order to check on my mother. The entire neighborhood looked like a giant game of pickup sticks.

I've only filled my 16' trailer 3 times since and I barely put a dent in all the oak that remains. I'm going to need to score more wood pallets!

Most that know me very well also know I'm happiest either being 30 ft up in a tree,50 ft+ up on scaffolding/concrete forms or even higher on some roof of a multi story office tower.

What can I say? I like the views from up there.

Blow overs are nice to cut, its like its suspended waiting for you to cut it.

What's funny is some of them start a foot off the ground and by the time you get to the middle the have sprung up to five or six feet high. The roots really put some tension on the trunk.

I agree. You think you will have nice cuts all the way to the base and it slowly inches its way up, up and then it is back to vertical
