Hi Everybody,

Does anybody have any experience with these? I would like to get them to help simplifiy the skidding process. Any comments or insights woudl be appreciated.

I have a very old pair of those tongs,the ring is hand-forged. Dont get used much anymore but I wouldnt be without them.
 
Look well made.
I use a chain & choke the log for skidding behind the ATV. Would be to long for my application. I have the log close.
What are you skidding with? Tractor?

Sorry about that. Yes, I use a JD 4020. I use a chain and choke too. but in the past I've had problems with getting the chains under the logs on the ground and I've busted quite a few chains as they skidded on the ground. I am not sure if these tongs will be able to handle the logs I pull.

That's a whole lotta tractor. I'd be looking for BIG chains if I was hooking a 4020 to them.

It's a great tractor. I love using it for everything around the farm. I have used 3/8" chain for the last 25 years. I break chains at least 3 to 4 times a year. It's a small prce to pay AND I get o pull out my welder and play with that for a while.
