Im looking to get a temp alarm for the attic. I want to know when it drops to freezing temps up there so i can be aware and reminded of pipes freezing. Yes the handler comes on automatically when the temp hits 32 but i want to know when just in case it dont

Thats a good idea OMV,.. I too have been thinking about multi temp sensors in different areas of the house,.. you see I have a tenant living in the upstairs apartment of my home,.. but I have all the baseboard zone valves shut off (because I hate the oil man),... I have no way of knowing what the temps are in other parts of the house,... does anyone know of a wireless probe setup that would relay temps back to a central unit that I can monitor...that would be cool.

The indoor/outdoor thermometers would allow you to place the outdoor component in the attic. Then you could keep tabs on what the temperature is up there. Some of them have alarm capability.

OCD should visit the area once in a while, With all that hot air there should be little chance the area would freeze! :p
ouch... low blow

I used a Taylor that expandable to four separate sensors. I had one in the deep freeze, garage, basement and of course outside. Alarmed on freezer if it quit, basement if stove quit, garage set for high limit if it was on fire.
